For me the North is magnetic. I am attracted to the space, the landscapes, the climate and the scarce human presence.
In rural Iceland I experienced how the constantly changing weather, the steaming earth, the veils of mist and water create an ever continuing rhythm of appearing and disappearing details. Because of that rhythm, the visual spectacle of nature also makes place for an atmosphere of stillness, from which I observe the landcape and the scarce elements of human presence that make part of the landscape on this island.
